Twin Cities Campus Student Health Benefit Plan Enrollees (updated 08/24/2020)
Effective 3/25/2020, Twin Cities Student Health Benefit Plan enrollees can purchase covered prescription(s) at pharmacies in the Prime Therapeutics pharmacy network. You will still be responsible for your copay. Your pharmacy benefit information is on your medical ID card.
The modification to allow prescription benefits through other pharmacies is currently expected to last through August 21, 2022. Prior to this change, your pharmacy benefit only included Boynton Pharmacy.
Find a Pharmacy
The following pharmacies are all in the Prime Therapeutics network:
To locate additional participating pharmacies, either call Blue Cross Customer Service at 1-866-873-5943, or go to bluecrossmn.com/uofmn and either log in or register, using only the number portion of your ID # from your Blue Cross member ID card. Once logged in, click on “Prescriptions” on the top of the page, click on “Find a Pharmacy”. It will direct you to Prime Therapeutics home page. Click on “Find a Pharmacy” again and insert your ZIP code. You will be searching in the “Select” pharmacy network.
If you are in Minnesota, Boynton Pharmacy likely remains your best and most convenient option for filling your prescriptions. New this fall, the SHBP will allow you to fill a 90-day supply of your medication when picking up at Boynton Pharmacy (some exceptions may apply). Boynton Pharmacy’s prices are often lower than the $15/$25 copay tiers.
Additionally, Boynton Pharmacy is continuing to provide curbside pickup to keep students safe and you will not even need to enter the clinic. Boynton Pharmacy can also mail prescriptions to most places within Minnesota at no extra charge.
Please visit the Boynton Pharmacy website to learn more.
