The University of Minnesota’s Residents, Fellows, and Interns (RFI) Plan is a cost-effective, comprehensive health plan designed to meet your unique needs.

Key features of the plan include:

  • Coverage of essential benefits
  • Access to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota worldwide network
  • Year-round coverage
  • Choice of one of two plans: Basic or Basic Plus

Network and claims administration services for the Student Dental Plans are provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.   

Enrollment

During open enrollment, submit your enrollment form to the Office of Student Health Benefits by June 15, 2026 or within 30 days of your hire date, whichever is later.
